There is a wealth of material about psychology to be found online. About.com works well as a reference source if you are looking for short, general answers to basic questions.
Their web pages can be somewhat confusing; you may find yourself clicking in circles on occasion. But there is a lot of basic material there.
A British site called Uncommon Knowledge has a collection of short, simple articles on issues related to psychology: self confidence, self esteem, public speaking confidence, and so forth. Professional Sources for Psychology Articles
There is an excellent site posted by the University of Bonn in Germany that has matching German and English versions. It is primarily a posting of articles written by professionals for professionals, so it is easy to find yourself immersed in the jargon of the trade. However there are also excellent articles that are very accessible to the layman (or woman) and they are, as you might expect, immaculately cataloged.
Here is an index of the sections provided for articles on psychology:
CONTENTS
Clinical & Health
Cognitive

In the area of Sports Psychology, there is a library of articles written on a collection of related subjects by athletes, trainers, parents of athletes and other interested parties. There are a number of articles of just general interest, such as A Rookie Year in the NBA. The articles are not strictly for people involved in sports; in fact, the website has been posted by Self Help Magazine and the material is meant for the general public.
For those interested in doing some heavy lifting on Gestalt Psychology, the Society for Gestalt Theory and its Applications has a website with articles on the Gestalt. They also have a list of related links posted there.
A small but interesting list of articles on Cultural/Historical Psychology posted by a university in Canada can be found.. It's heavily academic material for the most part, but one of the interesting titles is Reconciling Rhetoric and Image in Psychology.
A web service called Science Direct has a posting of the Top 25 Hottest Articles in Psychology. The material is from all corners of the discipline, but the articles appear to be professional. They do not explain what criteria make these particular pieces "hot" material.
Articles, Research and Resources in Psychology is a site that is designed primarily for professionals in the field, but has an extraordinary amount in indexed material, full articles and links.
