Case Manager

Case Managers, Case Management Training, Case Management Classes

 

Case Managers work with patients acting as liaison between the health care agency and the patient to ensure that care is provided as ordered by the physician.  The job often involves extensive contact with insurance companies and health care agency management.  The Case Manager’s job is to make medical treatment happen within the context of the managed care system (HMOs and Health Care Corporations)  and the massive bureaucracies of the Health Insurance Industry.

 

There are also Case Managers that work for Insurance Companies, overseeing cases and providing the Pre-authorization required for the many procedures that the primary physician may request.  There are also Case Managers who work in the Pharmaceutical Research field.   Most Case Managers are Registered Nurses who have moved out of the clinical arena and into administration.  Some Case Managers Work from Home.
