Case Managers work with patients acting as liaison between the health care agency and the patient to ensure that care is provided as ordered by the physician. The job often involves extensive contact with insurance companies and health care agency management. The Case Manager’s job is to make medical treatment happen within the context of the managed care system (HMOs and Health Care Corporations) and the massive bureaucracies of the Health Insurance Industry.
