Master's Degree In Biology

Master's Degree in Biology

The variety continues at the master's degree level.  The University of Idaho has both a master's and a doctoral program in bioinformatics and computational biology.  Bioinformatics and computational biology are new disciplines emerging from the confluence of biology, mathematics, statistics, and computer science. They make sense of the vast quantities of biological data that modern molecular techniques have made available.

BCB is a highly interdisciplinary program that requires students and faculty to bridge biological, computational, and mathematical disciplines. BCB faculty members are drawn from nine departments or divisions: Biochemistry Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Fish and Wildlife, Forest Resources, Mathematics, Plant Science, Rangeland Ecology, and Statistics. These academic units span four colleges and one institute: Science, Natural Resources, Agricultural and Life Sciences, Engineering, and WWAMI medical education program.

Diversity is also the hallmark of the University of Hartford's master's in biology:

"The Master's Biology Program is designed to meet the needs of students interested in obtaining graduate credentials in the traditional areas of biology, in preparation for professional study in medicine, in preparation for employment requiring a Master’s degree, or preparatory to doctoral training at another institution. Current research areas include microbiology, cellular and molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and animal anatomy and physiology."
